Local
contractors fall foul of health super centre
Pharmacies
in Barking and Dagenham are under threat from the opening of an NHS
health centre in the area.
Local
contractors are set to suffer when the project, which includes an
extended hours GP practice and walk-in-centre, launches this July, North
East London local pharmaceutical committee has warned.
(A quotation from dotpharmacy.com of 1st June, the above item shows that
it is possible to overcome local pharmacy opposition to open your own
pharmacy. Never has there been a better time to do so or a worse
time to lose the opportunity, as the next item shows. For
how to obtain further details click

Control
of entry review
Reforms to the control of entry regulations will be reviewed this
year, the Department of Health has confirmed in its Departmental Report
2006.
It also outlines plans to consult on pharmacist access to patient
records and confidentiality, and the potential for a national roll out
of the Boots chlamydia pilot. See http://tinyurl.com/pd4uu
(Again from dotpharmacy, this item
gives advanced notice of a review of the new regulations which have made
it possible for many companies of GPs to open their own pharmacy.
Without a shadow of doubt the chemists have been closely monitoring
events and will exert some pressure to attempt to prevent these
applications. Get your application in first. Click
