OUTSTANDING GP WEB SITES AT NOMINAL
COST
As part of the recently accepted new GP contract the government is
demanding that GP practices become more accessible and how better to
achieve this aim than to have a professional presence on the web?
Rather than sell a site to the practice for hundreds of pounds, Yellow
Creative Ltd of Kettering are offering the use of a professionally
designed, practice specific, navigable off-the-shelf site from a choice
of ten templates for the nominal sum of £20/month plus VAT subject to
material being sent in a digital format. Small
additional charges are made for hard copy submissions.
The company will even buy the domain name for the practice for just £6.99/year
(plus VAT) and maintain the site on a daily basis including all
amendments and changes.
Included in the service
is a downloadable PDF Practice Booklet which may be printed off by
patients or staff whenever they wish. Not only that but
whenever the website is updated, so is the booklet making out-of-date
practice booklets a thing of the past.
An additional extremely useful feature is the repeat medicines on-line
order form. All patients have to do is to fill in the names,
dosage and quantity of their approved repeat medicines and click for the
order to appear in the surgery.
To access the service the practice just needs to send its own text in a
digital format (MS Word or similar) and its own digitally prepared
photographs of the doctors, staff, premises or whatever it chooses and
the rest will be done by Yellow Creative.
If the practice has no photographs then generic medical photographs can
be provided free of charge.
All this for the tax-allowable sum of just £20/month or £220/year
(both plus VAT).
Notes
Yellow
Creative Ltd was formed in 2003. The companyıs designers have a strong
medical background having carried out work for niche companies Ashbourne
Pharmaceuticals, Dallas Burston Healthcare, Pharma Rapport and the
Dispensing Doctor Association amongst others. In addition to the new GP
website service they also carry out bespoke design work for GPs and are
currently building a comprehensive website for Munro Medical Centre in
Spalding after the successful launch of a newly designed Practice
Booklet.
They also offer design services to non-medical customers, their largest
client being the Sundial Group - one of the UKs biggest conference and
events specialists.
