RURAL DOCTORS CONFERENCE CALLS FOR PRIZE SNAPS
The photographic flair of delegates attending a major three-day conference in Mid Wales for rural doctors and other healthcare professionals will be demonstrated later this year.

'Me and My Hobby' will attract a prize of £250 at the Montgomeryshire Medical Society's (MMS) 14th Annual Rural Doctors Conference, which is being hosted at Gregynog, near Newtown from October 1-3, for the best photograph and explanatory text relating to a GP's personal hobby.

Introduced for the first time at the 2001 conference, the Gregynog Prize was won last year by conference stalwart Dr Geoff Moore, of Penny Bridge, Cumbria, with a black and white photograph of a late patient on a winter's day.

All entries, which must be handed in by the end of the afternoon session on Wednesday, October 2, will be exhibited in the Music Room at Gregynog for judging. The best photographs will then be presented to the conference for voting the following morning.

The unique conference is organised by the MMS with the support of The Institute of Rural Health, an organisation dedicated to optimising health and well being in rural communities across the UK.

More information about the Gregynog Prize and the conference is available from Ann
Whale, MMS co-ordinator, on 01686 650800 or annw@rural-health.ac.uk.
