Brown's Britain|
obesity can be linked to a genetic defect. In the past three years dozens of parents in Britain have been accused of abusing their children through “overfeeding”, with some youngsters being taken into care. In one of the most extreme cases, in October, social workers went to a maternity ward in Dundee to remove a baby born 28 hours earlier. The research, by Cambridge University, suggests
many parents have been wrongly accused and that the problem lies in the
children’s chromosomes.
There has been a gross acceleration of social services and local authority gauleiters under the Blair/Brown governments. Each of them stuffed full with the conviction in their own self-importance. All of them have been given authority to enter our homes, stasi-fashion to ensure that we are obeying the latest commands from Chairman Brown - and there have been many such commands.
The gauleiters (apologies for the mixed metaphor) are to be found in civilian dress in the pubs and bars of this country to ensure that visitors don't smoke; they are to be found as refuse collectors issuing on-the-spot fines for trumped up charges of too much or too little in whichever of five different bins; they are even seen following dog-walkers lest the pet poo's on the path; stasi members from the council can enter a home to be sure that too many people do not live there - and so it goes on.
The obesity police mentioned above are just one group of social workers who seek to remove children from parents at what seems to be any opportunity.
There is no doubt in this editor's mind that the Blair/Brown governments have been the most delibertely socially destructive regimes since Cromwell. It will be with an enormous sigh of relief that we will wish them a dismal retirement should any other party win the forthcoming general election.
In the meantime, with luck, we may see Blair arraigned for war crimes.
