GPs should read this with great care.    They could own the pharmacy in such a development.
David Roberts' book "Your own Pharmacy" tells you how.    Don't miss the opportunity.  Don't be like the doctors mentioned who seem to have missed the chance to change their lives.

Oakapple Primary Care has begun work on a pioneering project that will transform the site of the former Broadway Hotel in Fleetwood into West View Health Village, an extensive complex comprising around 3,000 sq ft of comprehensive healthcare facilities.

Due for completion in November 2005, the new state-of-the-art medical centre will house three doctors surgeries, a pharmacy, dental surgery, district nurse and café. Various additional units will also be available for alternative medicine provision and a wide range of health, fitness, beauty and leisure facilities.

Focused around a two-storey circular atrium, and with the outside finished mainly in white and blue, the development will be a striking landmark.

Three nearby practices – Broadway Medical Centre, Dr S M Ali at The Health Centre and Belle Vue Surgery –will relocate to West View Health Village together with local pharmacist, Albert Wilde, to share the reception and specialist facilities.

West View Health Village is an extremely important project that will create a major focal point for the area’s healthcare provision,” explains David Ratcliffe, managing director of Oakapple Primary Care. “The development will bring together many of the medical services in Fleetwood, making them more accessible and practical to use.

“The occupying GP practices will retain their own identity while benefiting from shared resources and the cost efficiencies gained from grouping facilities in one key location. This increased efficiency will enable them to channel resources into providing better services.

“The complementary health provision could include a wide rage of services such as optometry, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, reflexology, health & fitness, massage & meditation and chiropody.

“The Health Village’s large car park will end parking problems for visiting patients and Oakapple Primary Care is also funding welcome improvements to footpaths, pedestrian crossing points and railings on the adjoining roundabouts, making the area safer for pedestrians.

Ends.
