FHCS Exposes The
Vital Ingredients to Food Safety Management
Food Hazard Control Solutions releases FHCS: FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT-
The Comprehensive Food Safety Training and Management Guide for all
Food Industry Sectors.
Just over two and a half years ago, FHCS Director Aron Malcolm, began
the tedious process of writing a new
Food Safety training and management
guide based on standards and guidelines that define
Food Safety responsibilities for all food
industry sectors. Having been involved in varying sectors of food
industries both within
Australia
and Internationally during the
previous decade, Aron found that there was a genuine requirement for
everyone involved with food industries to
have access to a Food Safety resource that would provide high-calibre
information parallel to legislative
standards.
Through his Food Safety consultancy, FHCS, Aron discovered that owners,
managers, supervisors and other staff
of food businesses were desperate for Food
Safety information that would address
the often grey area between the requirements
of Local Food Legislation, National Food Safety Standards and International
Guidelines such as HACCP.
“FHCS:
FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT provides stimulus for safe food practices that
are science based and accepted on an
international level, and are well beyond the legislative requirements
for food production in developed countries
today,” says Aron. “There is
plenty of Food Safety information available on the internet, but the
problem is understanding which information is
relevant to a particular industry sector. This book is easy to read and
understand, and is formatted to provide
food safety information that is relevant to
all food industry sectors,” says
Aron. The book includes an extensive table of
contents, and extra tables of contents for defining specific responsibilities
for Human Resources, Engineering and Maintenance,
Cleaning and Housekeeping, Front of House Staff and Food Safety
at Home.
It is a terrible shame that the “She’ll be right mate” food safety
mentality still runs rife throughout food
industry sectors around the world. As
prices often dictate the supply and production of foodstuffs
to and from food businesses, Food Safety
is quite often overlooked in the struggle to meet budgets. There is
no longer a sanctuary for such mentalities
as the long arm of the law continues
to impose its grasp upon international food
industries. With the continual review of existing
legislation and guidelines, it important for the proprietors of all
food businesses to ensure their Food Safety skills and
knowledge are maintained commensurate with the scope of their business
activities and market share.
Millions of people become ill each year from consuming foods that have
not been produced and served
according to known safe food
practices. We have recently seen numerous foodborne illness occurrences
involving victims in the hundreds,
and as is quite often the case, the proprietors of the businesses
involved were seemingly oblivious to the
consequences of their actions.”
Food Safety is a genuine issue, and one that is bound by a moral and
legal obligation to
produce and serve foods that are safe and suitable for human consumption.
Foodborne illness does not occur when Food
Safety Management Systems are appropriate for the scope and purpose of
any given food business,“ says Aron.
Fines,
Loss of livelihood, Jail terms - They are all very realistic outcomes
of not displaying a due diligence approach to Food
Safety.
“This guide will dramatically impact the levels of Food Safety Internationally,”
says Aron, “FHCS: FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT
provides the most relevant Food Safety information available, saving
readers time and effort while increasing
awareness of the moral and legal responsibilities of all food businesses.”
