John Hemming MP has threatened legal action against Health Minister Jane Kennedy MP in order to force the revealing of the true financial state of the NHS.

"The Minister has provided figures that were worked out for September 2005.  We are now past the end of the financial year and far more accurate figures should be available."

"In the government's figures from September 2005 North Staffordshire NHS Trust has no forecast deficit, but more recent reports indicate £17 Million.  Brighton and Sussex NHS Trust is only £13.6 Million according to the government, but recent press reports indicate £21.3 Million.  Plymouth , Royal Cornwall and Royal Free NHS Trusts have zero forecast in the government's calculations, but £22 Million, £8.1 Million and £16 Million respectively according to more recent figures.”

" Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust’s deficit has tripled from £10 Million to £30 Million since September 2005."

"It is really worrying is that we have not been able to check all the figures.  The government know the true state of the NHS.  They should reveal the most recent figures that they have."

Mr Hemming is threatening a Judicial Review of the Ministers decision to cover up the true state of the NHS.
