Peeballs for Christmas

The Prostate Cancer Charity

STUFF YOUR CHRISTMAS STOCKING WITH A PEEBALL!

Here is an utterly original and memorable game with an important health message for men this Christmas.

It's the novelty stocking filler to end all stocking fillers and is a game full of subtlety and skill. The name of this game is Peeball. One person can play it alone. So can a team.  Perfect entertainment at a party for men wanting a light-hearted way of extracting the urine (in other words, taking the p!*s)!

Peeball is a biodegradable powder ball that gradually disintegrates on contact with liquid, is available for £1 (plus p+p), with a minimum 30 pence donation for each ball going to The Prostate Cancer Charity.

This is how a man can play. Remove the Peeball from the protective wrapping and place carefully in a urinal (single and trough urinals are acceptable playing surfaces.) Take aim and attempt to destroy the Peeball in the shortest possible time.

There is a serious side to the exercise of men relieving themselves.  Elaine Bennett, Director of Fundraising at The Prostate Cancer Charity, explains: "It's a fun, yet subtle way of helping men to think about an often overlooked aspect of their health. Difficulties in the waterworks can often be a tell-tale sign of prostate problems ahead.

"We hope that a host of different retail outlets will stock the Peeball to help us raise awareness of prostate cancer."

Other seasonal ways of helping fight the most common cancer among men in the UK - which kills 10,000 each year - is to buy him a 'Know About It' wristband for £1.

Our slogan is 'Know About It' because our ICM poll earlier this year found that only 10 per cent of people know what the prostate gland does and the crucial role it plays in a man's sexual function. We want to change that. The more men know about the prostate - the greater their chances of catching prostate cancer early and having a full range of treatment options to choose from.

The Prostate Cancer Charity's Tee-Shirt, bearing the newly designed 'Real Man' logo, can also be purchased, in medium, large and extra large sizes, for a minimum donation of £5.

You may also wish to safeguard your man's future health by making a donation to The Prostate Cancer Charity. A £20 donation could pay for an hour of call time to the Charity's nurse-led Helpline (0845 300 8383) who take over 16,000 calls a year from anxious men and their families.

You can find out how to buy Peeball or other ways of helping this Christmas by logging onto www.prostate-cancer.org.uk

Postage and packing is 50p in the UK for up to three peeballs and a £1 for up to ten.

Every year over 30,000 men are diagnosed with the disease and 10,000 men die from it.  Prostate cancer is now the most common cancer diagnosed in men in the UK - every hour at least one man dies from this disease.

African Caribbean men are three times more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer than their white counterparts.
