FREE RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO HEALTH CARE
PROFESSIONALS DURING PREGNANCY HEALTH MONTH
GPs, midwives and practice nurses are being offered free resources by
Tommy’s, the baby charity - providing them with essential health
information to offer their pregnant patients during Pregnancy Health
Month this September.
Pregnancy Health Month is a national campaign, aiming to answer
questions about pregnancy health so that pregnant women have the peace
of mind that they are doing all they can to keep their baby as healthy
as possible. As well as information being disseminated via health care
professionals, Tommy’s – a leading charity that funds research into
miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth – will be promoting
Pregnancy Health Month via TV, radio, national and regional print press
as well as enlisting the help of corporate partners and celebrity
supporters.
Recent research conducted by Tommy’s has shown that pregnant women
feel unsure about whether they’re eating the right things, getting
enough sleep, and keeping relaxed during pregnancy. They worry about the
impact these things have on the health of their baby which is why
Tommy’s are making resources available to health care professionals.
The aim is to provide handouts on frequently asked questions to pregnant
patients as well as detailed information and advice on health, diet,
exercise and leading a stress-free pregnancy, in order to provide
additional resources for patients to use between visits to their health
care professional.
For surgeries, posters and information sheets will be available to alert
pregnant patients about Pregnancy Health Month and encourage them to
call Tommy’s team of midwives who are on-hand to answer any
pregnancy-related questions, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm on 0870 777 30
60.
By encouraging awareness of good pregnancy health and making resources
available to health care professionals and pregnant women, Tommy’s
hopes that more babies will be born healthily and at full-term.
