WILD PICTURES of LONDON

If you practice in one of the more rural areas, or he Highlands and Islands, then this is for you!

I am currently putting out the feelers for characterful countryside/rural or remote/island doctors who may possibly be interested in a documentary idea we have in development called The Country Doctor, says Nick Rotherham.

I work for Wild Pictures (see www.wildpictures.co.uk) – an independent television production company based in London that specialises in high end access based documentaries for all the major broadcasters. Our creative director Paul Hamann is a former head of BBC documentaries and an award winning film maker in his own right. You may have seen our recent series about Wormwood Scrubs on ITV1, which attracted audiences of over 5 million viewers. Our primetime series ‘The Zoo’ also recently finished airing on ITV1 to great audience and critical acclaim.

Wild are adept at exploring sensitive issues with intelligence, empathy and honesty and have a great relationship with the broadcaster commissioners.

We’re always on the look-out for fresh documentary ideas and are currently developing a three part series (with a view to commission) for ITV1, 8pm slot called The Country Doctor. I am now very keen to find characterful or charismatic doctors who work as an island doctor or in the countryside and more rurally, who would consider being filmed as we follow life at their practice.

We have not been commissioned as yet and so this is purely development at this stage. However, we have had firm interest in our idea from ITV1 and we are now fleshing out our proposal with potential GPs we could feature.

Any pointers would be fantastic! Feel free to email nick@wildpictures.co.uk and be sure to mention David Roberts of Countrydoctor.co.uk.
